16th of December: Step it up on Climate Change

Friends of the Earth is organising a National 'step up on climate change' series of coordinated actions. Plans are to blockade MP's offices with sandbags to prevent them from rising sea levels.

The are four Melbourne protest actions in the seats of Wills (Brunswick/Coburg), Melbourne, Batman (where we were last time) and Gellibrand (Footscray and West).

Each action will start at 10 am on Tuesday 16th Dec. Everything is open and public with organising.

what a good idea sand bags that will get them into the news

i joined FoE at the melbourne mp place at victoria street not far from mebourne uni. We sand bagged a little well we made a line in flouro vest with hard hats and past the bages to one another to dam the office. We got create media coverage the age, the australian, channel ten, some student radio station who interviewd me (yay) and best of them all the Mx. It was lead by Damine the guy who talked to us at FoE at our Leap visite. They had six police officers there 6. What a waste of tax payers money but in away it was compliment to be considerd that dangerous.

There were similar events like this around Victoria and Probarly Auss as a whole some people in vic stormed an office and set on the roof top.
