ASEN Activist Training Camp
ASEN Activist Training Camp
What are you planning to do next year? If you wanna be involved in environmental and social change, in your school/campus environment collective or state network next year, nows the time to start thinking about going to ASEN TRAINING CAMP in January (21st-26th) in Canberra.
What is ASEN Training Camp?
Each year, ASEN (the Australian Student Environment Network – the network Environment collectives and groups at uni and tafe campuses) gets together to put on a training camp. It's a week of workshops, planning, sharing and getting to know other activists from all over the country. It's a great way of skilling up for the year ahead, and getting to know other people who are doing cool enviro activism. Training camp will also be a space to strategically plan and discuss the new year with other ASEN-stars, people in your state networks and develop kick-arse campaigns. For those who have been to an ASEN Training Camp before and for those who haven't this year a major focus will be campaign development. You will get the opportunity to develop real campaigns that we in ASEN will be putting into practice in 2009, while you develop your own campaign strategy skills.
The plan:
Wed 21st Jan - Arrive Canberra in the arvo meet at ANU and convoy in a bus to camp location. ASEN Training camp is residential.
Thurs 22nd – Sunday 25th Jan - ASEN Training Camp, including workshops on collective organising, facilitation, campaign strategy and development, ASEN planning and MUCH MUCH MORE.
Evening Sunday 25th – Pack up and Drive to the Aboriginal Tent Embassy.
Monday 26th Jan - Invasion Day: March with Aboriginal Tent Embassy
