Students of Sustainability Conference
Students of Sustainability Conference
Hi there all!
Hope you're all super.
Dan M here (from LEAP)
Just sending a reminder to everyone that the Students of Sustainablity Conference (SOS) is happening next week!! The program is finalised, registrations are over 300, and it's set to be another incredible week!!
SOS has been a vital week for so many environmental and social justice activists over the years (including those organising LEAP and Powershift!)
For those who haven't yet heard about SOS, here is a description:
Students of Sustainability (SOS) is an annual event bringing together 400-800 people from across Australia for a week of engagement with and exploration of social and environmental sustainability issues. It is a week of planned and spontaneous workshops, skillshares, seminars, lectures, actions, forums and inevitably, connections.
The five-day conference and camp is an educative conference about the earth and its inhabitants, an uplifting convergence of allied passions, a practical course in social change, an inspiring festival of alternative worlds, an open congress on current global concerns, and a vital gathering of diverse strategies to similar ends.
SoS is open to anyone - from activists who've dedicated their whole lives to social change, seeking to reconnect with that initial inspirational breath, to those simply curious and looking to learn something that speaks back to their indeterminate anxiety about the state of the world.
This year, SOS will take place on Wurunjeri land, at Monash University (Clayton) July 6th - 10th.
SOS invites and encourages active participation in its programme. It's a place to share inspiration, knowledge, skills and stories.
If you, or someone you know, would like to contribute a workshop, seminar, skillshare or other to the program, there are open Spaces throughout the week that can be arranged during the week.
For all interested in coming to SOS, registrations are now open – just go to www.studentsofsustainability.org . If there are any questions or suggestions, please don’t hesitate to send them to info@studentsofsustainability.org .
